Festive 5K to Spread Christmas Cheer
We are supporting the “It’s Christmas 5k” run & walk on 21st December from The Big Shed on Meadow Lane.
Nottingham is set to sparkle this December with the launch of the “It’s Christmas! 5K Run or Walk”, a family-friendly event designed to bring the community together while supporting those in need. Taking place on the shortest day of the year, the event promises light, warmth, and festive fun for all ages.
Hosted by DOrunning and SMD Active Together, the 5K route along the scenic riverside offers participants the chance to run, jog, or stroll while making a real difference. A portion of every entry fee will be donated to Tracey’s Kitchen, a local initiative helping people facing hunger, homelessness, and hardship this Christmas. In addition, food donations will be collected on the day for the Bestwood and Bulwell Food Bank, turning community spirit into tangible support.
Participants will enjoy a full festive experience, including an event t-shirt, bespoke Christmas medal, official timing, and a celebratory glass of mulled wine with a mince pie at the finish line. The race village, located at The Big Shed at Trent Navigation, will provide warmth, refreshments, secure bag drop, and facilities for all.
Early bird entries are just £20 until 28 November (rising to £25 thereafter), with all entrants before the deadline entered into a prize draw for a free place in the Robin Hood Half Marathon 2026. Families, groups, and teams are encouraged to join, and prizes await the top three male and female finishers.
Let’s make this the most heart-warming run of the year—because everyone deserves to feel the Christmas spirit! Register now and help spread festive cheer across Nottingham: www.eventbrite.com/e/its-christmas-5km-tickets-1916855218559
