Sustainability

A network of services supporting the health and wellbeing of children and young people has been established, to build a collective understanding of the local offer, to communicate this to children, families and partners and to engage the voice of children and young people in the ICP.

The network has developed an inventory of service (can be accessed here, or to the right hand side of the page), and is using insights from engagement to shape the future of services.

The inventory has been shared with all Bassetlaw schools, GP practices and services relating to children and young people. The online version can easily be shared with our link: http://bit.ly/CYP1218

The F Word Event

A special event to discuss childhood obesity took place at The Bridge Skills Hub in Worksop recently.

The event saw partners from across Bassetlaw come together to consider how we might tackle childhood obesity and support parents, young people and families better.

Chaired by Bassetlaw CCG Chairman Dr Eric Kelly and with BBC reporter Kevin Fitzpatrick acting as independent facilitator, panellists from ABL Health, Nottinghamshire County Council, Get Out Get Active Bassetlaw and Bassetlaw Community and Voluntary Service (BCVS), took questions from the audience.

The group talked about the wide range of initiatives and support services already available in Bassetlaw. The meeting agreed partners should develop a Childhood Obesity Strategy for Bassetlaw and that the development of this would be overseen by the Bassetlaw Place Partnership.
