Loneliness Stops with Us, it’s a team effort
With the bright lights and sparkle of the festive season now a dim and distant memory, the cold, damp February days can be long and lonely.
For many, the unpleasant weather and lack of daylight are tedious and monotonous, but for some they are isolating and a further barrier to any sort of social interaction.
Partners from the health, care and voluntary sector have teamed up with sporting clubs and organisations from across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire to work together to promote the message that ‘Loneliness Stops with Us’.
Across the city and county there are wealth of events and opportunities which are organised specifically to help people socialise.
Notts County Football Club is one of the clubs which is taking part.
Club Chief Executive Joe Palmer said: “In partnership with the Notts County Foundation, we run various programmes that people of any age can engage with.
“These can be found through visiting the Notts County Foundation web page.
“Keep an eye out for Loneliness Stops with US campaign information around the ground and on matchdays here at Meadow Lane.”

The Loneliness Stops with Us campaign is targeting anyone of any age. If you see the messaging and know someone who could benefit from support, then go online and find out more.
“By working together, we hope we can reach a wide and diverse audience to help those who feel isolated or lonely,” said Dave Briggs, Executive Director of Outcomes (Medical) at Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board.
“There really are lots of opportunities for people to leave their homes and meet new people or try their hand at learning a new skill.
“We hope that by promoting the loneliness stops with us messaging, we might help those who are most in need.
“Loneliness impacts all our communities and by working together we can reduce it. If you know someone who is lonely visit this web page where you will be directed to help and support in your area.”
